Our first stop on the tourist express was a visit to Wailua Falls. In the photo below, you can see how Cathy heeds the safety warnings at the site:
Of course, hopping the rail to get a perch on the ledge a few feet closer to the waterfalls really made for an awesome photo.
Most of the rest of the day was spent at Smith's Tropical Paradise. First we took a boat ride up the Wailua river to Fern Grotto. Below is a picture Tom snapped of us cruising up the river. If your monitor is very sharp, you can see us waving.
After the boat ride, we headed to Smith's Gardens for the luau. Before the ceremony started, we got to tour the gardens, admiring the flora and the birds. Cathy had a lot of fun getting the peacocks to pose in their full splendor.
Eventually, the pig was pulled from the earthen oven and the feast began.
We finished off the evening with the multi-cultural dance show.
